The Book of Fate Formerly in the Possession of and Used by Napoleon
The Book of Fate Formerly in the Possession Of and Used by Napoleon, rendered into the English language by H. Kirchenhoffer, published in 1927. This is a curious divinatory occult system linked to certain Gnostic sects and discovered by Napoleons men in an Egyptian Tomb when France attempted to occupy that country. The large fold out chart, rarely found with the work is complete although detached from the book and there are tears along the fold lines…attempting to use the book without the chart is impossible and the rear portion contains area’s where experiments with the oracle system can be recorded. Much of the symbolism appears strangely Masonic such as a square and compass and human skull. There are also references to Hermetic sources in the book. Bound hardback with decorative embossing in gold-with light shelfwear and previous owners bookplate and inscription to pastedown.
